Air India resumes normal operations at London airport after power outage

Air India announced on Saturday that flights with London Heathrow (LHR) have returned as planned after a brief uproar caused by a blackout at the airport on Friday.

Sharing the post on X, the airline confirmed that today’s flight AI111 is expected to depart on time and all other flights to London are expected to operate on schedule.

“In and out of London’s Heathrow (LHR) has been recommended after disruption at the airport due to yesterday’s blackout. Today’s flight AI111 is on schedule and other flights to London are expected to operate on schedule,” the post said.

“The AI161 on March 21 will be converted to Frankfurt and is expected to leave Frankfurt at 1:05pm local time,” he added.

In another incident on March 10th, Air India’s flight from Chicago to Delhi was forced to return to the departure airport after multiple washrooms on board were not wasted, as reported by crew due to clogged toilets caused by inappropriate waste disposal.

An investigation by relevant authorities revealed that the bathroom was unskilled as polyethylene bags, rags and clothes were washed away and caught in the plumbing.

“We know of a social media post about AI126 lean bathroom operating Chicago in Delhi on March 5, 2025, O’Hare International Airport said.

Airport officials said the flight departed on time at 1,648 hours (UTC) and about 45 minutes after the flight, but crews reported that some of the business and economy class bathrooms were not skilled.

Eight of the aircraft’s 12 washrooms became unskilled, causing discomfort for everyone. By this time, aircraft had been disrupting the Atlantic, and European points had transformed into a potential city.

However, restrictions on nighttime operations at most European airports have made it a decision to return to Chicago.

Authorities say the repurchase decision was taken entirely for the comfort and safety of passengers.
