The government has set a three-month deadline to close an investigation into the crash crash of an Air India plane in Ahmedabad, which claimed to live with more than 250 people on Thursday.
“Within three months, we will try to draw the investigation to conclusions. All theories regarding this crash will be analyzed,” said Aviation and Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu at a press conference in New Delhi on Saturday.
He said the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is currently investigating technical aspects of the incident.
The government also formed a high-level committee that includes representatives of the Gujarat government, the Chief of Police of Ahmedabad, the Chief of Civil Aviation Security, the DG of the Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA) and the Special Director of Forensic Services.
The committee will be chaired by the Union Home Secretary.
“The entire accident area has been blocked. The investigation is progressing smoothly. A high-level committee has been established under the Secretary of the Interior. The committee will consider the reasons for the accident and strengthen aviation safety,” the Secretary of Civil Aviation said at a press conference.
