Ricky PiersolThe 49ers’ 2024 first-round draft pick was shot during an attempted robbery in San Francisco early today, the city’s mayor announced.
Pearsall, 23, was reportedly shot in the arm around 3:30 p.m. and is in stable condition at a local hospital.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody.
According to San Francisco Police, the horrific incident happened Saturday afternoon in the Union Square area of downtown San Francisco.
Police said they responded to a report of a shooting and found two people wounded. Video taken on the street shows Pearsall walking toward an ambulance.

During the investigation, it was revealed that one of the injured was Pearsall and the other was the suspected burglar, who was injured during the course of the crime.
“This afternoon in Union Square, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during an attempted robbery. San Francisco Police Department officers immediately responded to the scene and have arrested the shooter,” San Francisco Mayor London Breed said in a statement.
“Our hearts go out to Ricky and his family right now.”
The Niners selected wide receiver Piersall with the 31st overall pick in April’s NFL draft following a senior season in which he caught 65 passes for 965 yards and four touchdowns with the Florida Gators.
Pearsall wasn’t expected to play a big role in the Niners’ offense this year… Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk He’s above him on the depth chart.
Pearsall had been battling a shoulder injury this preseason prior to Saturday’s shooting.
