Looking for the ultimate 3-day Virginia Beach getaway?
I’m not going to lie, my first impression of Virginia Beach was not good.
It looked dirty, cheap and devastated.
However, after spending a few days here and exploring the local area, I found redemption qualities worth visiting (in our opinion).
Virginia Beach is a holiday destination for beach lovers as well as vacationers of all kinds.

The ultimate 3-day itinerary for Virginia Beach
Three days are the perfect time to spend in Virginia Beach.
It gives you time to actually enjoy the beach, but you can also enjoy the surrounding area.
Plus, there’s plenty of time to try out all the local restaurants.
This is the itinerary I followed during my recent visit after many preliminary research and some decisions on the spot.
Day 1: Arrival date
On this itinerary I think you’re driving from somewhere nearby for the first half of your day.
We actually visited as part of a massive road trip and kicked us out of the outer bank.
Therefore, the first day is only half a day.
Where to eat lunch: Roman pizza
Pizza by Slice is extremely popular all over the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk.
The Roman pizza was directly across from the Beach Quarters Resort, where we were staying, so it was a convenient place to pick up pizza and take you to the resort.
If you want to eat there, they also have plenty of seats in the restaurant.
If the resort offers a coupon book, you should be able to cut your orders by 15% here.
There was a slice of Cheese pizza Slice with Meat lover pizza.

Afternoon: Check-in to the resort/hotel
Most resort check-in times are from 3pm to 4pm. Therefore, even if you arrive early, the room may not be ready until you get close to that time.
Therefore, this itinerary does not begin in the morning.
However, take the time to explore the resort in the afternoon and enjoy the amenities and activities.
We spent some time in the rooftop pool overlooking the sea.

Where to eat dinner: Catch 31
Catch 31 is a restaurant and bar located in Hilton on the beach.
This is another restaurant where you need a 15% off coupon in your coupon book.
I’ve ordered it Coconut shrimp I went to go because I wanted a quick snack before the ghost tour, but they all have a little bit of a menu.
That’s a pretty big order – I think there were 10 or 12 pieces there!
There is indoor seating, outdoor seating and a bar.

evening: Neptune Ghosts of the Coast Ghost Tour
The perfect night activity especially in town Ghost Tour.
It starts with the Neptune statue with Catch 31, so it is very convenient and is located in the central location.
This tour will lead you to the boardwalk towards the pier.
It’s about an hour long, and if you’re lucky, you can search for ghosts and other paranormal events in your EMF reader.
This tour is primarily about local ghost stories, dating until the 1500s and most recently 2022!
The tour likes to be familiar with the local area and learn where to watch out for paranormal events while traveling.
At EMF Leader there was a lot of ghost activity throughout the tour!

Day 2: Activities
Now it’s time to go out and explore your hometown.
There’s so much to do from the beach!
Morning: Virginia Aquarium
One of the area’s top attractions is the Virginia Aquarium and the Marine Science Center.
This is a great family-friendly activity for all the interactive exhibits, but you don’t need to bring your kids with you to enjoy the aquarium.
There is a recently expanded building with a touch pool, a play area and a veterinary centre where you can observe animals under treatment.
It is considered one of the top aquariums in the country!
Where to eat lunch: Fuddruckers
There aren’t many places left for Fuddruckers, so when we drove along the way we decided we should go there for a meal to see if it was as good as we remember.
We also walk down the street from the aquarium!
When I was a kid, I always hot dog Because I loved Texas Toast Pan.
That’s exactly what I got and that’s what I remember.
I will definitely eat it again!
For JP Bourbon Burger Comes with fries and onion rings.

afternoon: Breakout Game Virginia Beach
We love escape rooms and love to try out different rooms unique to each destination.
Breakout Game The chain we actually own at home (Dayton, Ohio), but we don’t have our rooms in Virginia Beach.
That’s a clue game-themed escape room.
This room is different from other escape rooms as it plays like a board game.
You have to solve the murder mystery – find out who committed the murder, which weapons, and in what room you committed to “run away.”
Better to be confident in your detective skills as you only get one attempt to make your accusation.
We solved this room without any hints and had almost 15 minutes left.
It was definitely a team effort and our previous escape room experience was helpful.

Where to eat dinner: Las Palmas
Las Palmas is a very popular local Mexican restaurant chain.
There are a few in the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk area, but one in particular is actually on the beach, so that’s what I would recommend.
Their menu is huge with all kinds of Mexican food you can think of.
We had Quesa Biria This is a quesadilla with a Birria Consomme Dip Chimichangus.
Because it’s one of my favorite dishes.

Day 3: Beach Day
If you haven’t spent a while on the beach yet, today is the day to do it!
The end of the itinerary is the perfect time to relax. Because you can see everything you want and feel like you’re resting before you get home.
Where to eat breakfast: Pocahontas pancakes
Pocahontas Pancakes are Virginia Beach’s most popular breakfast spot.
It has been featured on the Food Network and has been around since the 1970s.
An old diner style restaurant with a full breakfast menu.
Usually there is a line of doors, but when I waited it was about 20 minutes.
I had Nutella pancakes and jp had an a Breakfast sampler It came with pancakes, bacon, sausages, eggs and French toast.
Compared to most restaurants today, it’s a good, relatively low price.

Morning: First Landing State Park
The first landing state park was the area that first landed when the settlers who built Jamestown actually “found” America.
It’s a marsh, so I think it’s why they moved a bit inland to Jamestown.
I highly recommend when you go to this state park Bald Cypress Train.
It starts at the Visitor Center and is a 1.8-mile loop.
Most of the trails are a combination of promenade trails through the swamp and sand trails.
It’s great to hike in the morning. Because it’s not busy and isn’t too hot outside.
There is a small fee to enter the park. It’s only $7 per vehicle per week and $10 on weekends.
But it may be more expensive for a larger group.

Where to eat lunch: Tote Gas Cafe & Tiki Bar
This is an outdoor restaurant and bar at Ocean Beach Club Resort, located at the northern tip of Virginia Beach.
we had BBQ Bonless Wing And a Octopus sampler.

They also have great drinks because it is a tiki bar.
For JP Ram Runner.

Afternoon: Beach Day
Some resorts offer beach chairs and umbrella rentals for free or for a small fee.
There are also rentals available on the beach. Alternatively, you can purchase the extras you need at the gift shop along the boardwalk.
I found the most of the sunburns.
We tried to get the decorations – we’re all the souvenirs to go out on our trips – but they seemed to have the most beach gear.

Where to eat dinner: North End Pizza
North End Pizza is another place where you can get discounts from resorts and coupon books.
We were 10% off from the resort, but the coupon book receives discounts on whole pizza and family meal deals.
We each preferred different pizza toppings so we had Half pepperoni and half sausage.

Where to Stay in Virginia Beach
We stayed here at two different resorts as we found one at the southern tip of the beach and one at the northern tip of the beach.
This makes it convenient to explore the entire oceanfront without having to walk around two miles each time you go out.
Therefore, if you plan to stay for 4 nights or so, I recommend splitting your stay too!
Beach Quarters Resort
The first place we stayed was Beach Quarters Resort The southern tip of Virginia Beach.
It’s definitely an old property, but we managed to get a one bedroom ocean front room because it’s pretty cheap.
I used timeshare points for my stay and reviewed my stay on other blogs called “timeshares, resorts, etc.” See the full review!
The biggest part of the resort is the 7-story rooftop pool overlooking the sea.

Ocean Beach Club
The second we stayed was Ocean Beach Club The northern tip of Virginia Beach.
This resort is pretty good, but definitely more expensive.
With Timeshare Point, I was able to stay in the Oceanfront studio room on Friday and Saturday nights.
The Tiki Bar mentioned earlier is at this resort and the pool is really nice too.
