Taylor Swift may not have taken the top spot on Billboard’s list of the 21st Century’s Greatest Pop Stars, but she did come in second place.
Still, Swifties are shocked that Taylor didn’t come out on top, as she seems to have the world in her hands these days.
Billboard placed the pop star at No. 2, ahead of Rihanna (No. 3), Drake (No. 4), Lady Gaga (No. 5) and Britney Spears (No. 6).
Taylor also beat out other major artists such as Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Usher, with whom he has publicly feuded.
Billboard journalist Hannah Daly explained why she placed Taylor at number two. Daly said Taylor “despite starting eight years late in country music, bending the culture to her will with force and gravitas and becoming one of the undisputed biggest pop stars in the world.” I was able to do it.”
The magazine says it ranks artists based on who has achieved the most defined pop stardom over the past 25 years.
Billboard has not yet revealed the winner, but many fans are speculating that it will be Beyoncé. That’s not a bad guess.
But stay tuned. We’ll just have to wait and see.
