For Abdul Carter, the toughest part about being in the NFL might be finding uniform numbers.
Last weekend, Carter’s hope to separate Taylor’s famous No. 56 from retirement was rejected by a Hall of Fame linebacker who respectfully urged the New York Giants Rookie to make his own mark on his behalf.
After that, Simms was in the picture He said on Fan Duel TV So that Carter, or fellow Giants’ first round pick Jackson Dart, can wear it because he is open to not resign from No. 11.
“I told my friends and some of the people around me. “I think it’s a lot of fun. I don’t think I’ll worry about it.”
Carter, who wore No. 11 in Pennsylvania, appears to have been keen on the idea, writing on social media that “it would be an honor.”
But those hopes were clearly short-lived.
SIMMS He spoke to longtime New York Daily News writer Gary Myers. On Friday he was “supported by his family” and his No. 11 will remain retired by the Giants.
Carter, the No. 3 pick in last week’s NFL Draft, was all jokingly wondering what was behind his jersey as the NFL season began.

Retiring the numbers from the first round draft picks is not entirely foreign to the Giants. Last year’s first round pick, Malik Nabers, was given permission from the late Rei Flahherty family to wear No. 1.
