Have you already mastered the new racing brands from Mario Kart World? Have you practiced all the Wallride and Time Skip in the game? Perhaps it’s time to try something new and take on the Mirror Mode assignment.
Mirror mode was introduced in Mario Kart 64 and has appeared in every entry in the series since the GameCube-ERA Double Dash. This mode reverses all racetracks across the Y-axis, leaving a left turn to a right turn and vice versa. For gamers who have already mastered the perfect way to drift every corner, rethinking all of this course will disrupt muscle memory and bring the old race to a new mood once again.
In Mario Kart World, players can unlock the version of the mirror mode and flip each cup over for a different racing experience. It also gives you the opportunity to mirror the free ROHM area, significantly changing one of the biggest new Mario Kart features.
These mirror modes unlock in two different ways. Here’s how to unlock mirror mode races and roam for free in Mario Kart World:
Keep an eye out for free Roam collectibles. When unlocking mirror mode, it is important to knock out the P switch issue.
How to unlock mirror mode races in Mario Kart World
If you want to unlock mirror mode races in this game, there is a small laundry list of requirements that you will need to knock out. You need to master the existing in-game cups as well as get involved in the new free ROHM features and extensive range of Mario Kart World. There is everything you need to complete to unlock the Mirror Mode Race in Mario Kart World.
Complete all Grand Prix Cups and Knockout Tour Rally in 150cc
To unlock the track’s mirror mode, you will need to beat all the races in the game at the fastest speeds currently. Interestingly, in reality, it is not necessary to place them first in these cups to meet your requirements. Make sure you have completed these races in 150cc mode.
Collect 10 Peach Medallions? panel
With Peach Medallion? The panels are located in Cranny, both in the corners of Mario Kart World’s Free Roam mode. Are Peach Medallions often hidden in corners or hidden from beaten paths? The panels are more likely to be in open areas or on the wall of the racecourse wall. To unlock mirror mode, you will need to find at least 10 of each of these collectibles.
Finish 10 P Switch Challenges
In addition to picking up collectibles from around the world, you will need to find and complete the challenges of 10 P-switches. These big blue buttons unlock special timing courses to complete in the open world. To meet the mirror mode requirements, you must complete 10 of these tasks.
Complete a special cup with 150cc (again)
This is the last step to unlocking the mirror mode in Mario Kart World and cannot be completed before putting together any other requirements. If you’ve already beat the special cup in 150cc before you beat the other races and pick up all of those collectibles, you’ll need to complete this set of races again. The good news is that you don’t need to win number one to unlock special modes. Just like the Grand Prix Cup and Knockout Rally Tour, completion is important here.
Complete a special cup with 150cc and you’ll see a notification along with a small icon on the stained glass window at Peach Stadium, informing you that you have unlocked mirror mode. You will now be able to select mirror mode from the Race selection screen. This notification gives you some tips on how to enter the new mode with the free Roam.
To jump out onto the castle of Peach and enter mirror mode with the free Roam, you will need to enter the stained glass window (top left).
How to enter mirror mode with free roaming in Mario Kart World
Free Roam’s mirror mode doesn’t require much effort to activate it. Instead of filling out the list of requirements, you will need to find a single secret in the open world of Mario Kart World to activate this version of mirror mode.
To free roam around the Y-axis, you must first unlock the mirror mode of the regular cup race. After doing that, head to the Peach Stadium Track as you explore the world. There are stained glass portraits of Princess Speech Secrets that you need to find in this course.
You can find this stained glass portrait on the roof of Peach Castle. You can find one of the racetrack parts, get on the roof and land on the roof, and climb towards the middle of the castle. The portrait is located in the front and center of the castle roof – you cannot miss it. Run through stained glass and enable mirror mode with free roaming.
Disabling mirror mode is as easy as driving a Peach portrait again.
What is the reward for breaking mirror mode?
Once you unlock mirror mode, it’s natural to go through the newly messed-up racetracks of each Grand Prix Cup. Know that there are no new racers, karts or tracks to turn on mirror mode and break the cup to unlock. The only reward you earn is a new sense of pride and achievement to tackle this challenge.
