Miami Heat forward Jamie Jaquez Jr. had a strong rookie season, but Jaquez had one area he wanted to focus on in the offseason, and that began with his outside shooting.
“My three-point shooting is something I’ve really wanted to improve on,” Jaquez said. “I feel like if I want to make the strides and the leaps that are necessary for us to win as a team, I need to improve myself as well. It’s just about working on my mechanics and putting in practice.”
Jaquez said he also focused on his body and diet during the offseason.
“The season is so long and so demanding,” Jaquez said. “Hearing about the veteran players and how much they take care of their bodies and what they eat has inspired me to change my diet. I’m eating more organic foods and researching what goes into my food. I’m trying to maintain an organic, healthy diet and make it a lifestyle. What I’ve learned is that my energy levels are higher, my mood is better, my brain works a lot better and I focus a lot better than when I’m consuming foods with bad preservatives.”
