At MWC 2025, Samsung also introduced the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, claiming it is the slimmest Galaxy S series ever. The phone announced on the Galaxy, which was unpacked in January, will likely be released in May.
Currently, the edges of the Galaxy S25 have previously claimed to be 6.4mm thick (which would have been much thicker than the Spark Slim), but a recent report claims it is as thin as 5.84mm and weighs less than 162gm. Even if this is the case, the Tecno Spark Slim will cause the Samsung Galaxy S25’s edge in terms of size.
The iPhone 17 Air is a completely different story. The latest leak measures just 5.44mm and shows that it could be the “thinest” smartphone, claps both the spark slim and the edges.
“twist”
However, in some kind of twist, this measurement excludes the camera ridge. Camera bumps are excluded. This will result in an additional thickness of approximately 5.84mm, similar to the edge. So the air on the iPhone 17 may not take away the “slim” crown in the end.
Whether Tecno Spark Slim will see the sunlight in the air. Despite the hype, it is still a concept phone with no clear signs of mass production or release dates. The only smartphone that is likely to boot is currently the Samsung Galaxy S25.
