I’ll share summaries of some of the books I’ve read recently and whether I recommend adding them to your collection.
Hello friends! Have a wonderful week! So far so good, but there were so many events going on today that I forgot that the kids had half a day. Does this happen to anyone else? Thankfully the pilot swoops in to help back up the kid!
In today’s article, I would like to introduce some books that I have read recently. TBH, I haven’t read much since my kids started school. The amount of homework they do is slowly draining me. In addition to extracurricular activities, they have hours of homework each night. So I read a few pages before going to bed and quickly gave up. I would like to make more time to read books. That’s one of the joys of winter vacation.
I’m working hard too High Performance Health Certification This is when I’m not working on the blog with clients, and I hope to finish it by the end of December. I’m loving the content so far!!
The books I read recently are:

The secret life of sunflowers
The secret life of sunflowers Marta Molnár’s “This novel is a dual-timeline novel that mixes art history, mystery, and self-discovery. The film tells the story of Emsley Wilson, a young woman who inherits her late aunt’s house and a hidden diary that once belonged to Johanna Bonger, Vincent van Gogh’s sister-in-law.
Through her diary, Msley learns of Johanna’s life, struggles, and her dedication to preserving Van Gogh’s legacy. This story intertwines Emsley’s own journey of healing and self-acceptance with Joanna’s brave fight for her family’s name, and is a beautiful reminder of how past and present can be tied together. Masu. It was beautifully written and engaging, and I really enjoyed it. Highly recommended if you like historical fiction and are looking for something different. 9/10
from Amazon:
When Hollywood auctioneer Emsley Wilson discovered his famous grandmother’s diary while cleaning out a New York brownstone, its pages were full of surprises. The first thing that surprised me was that the diary was not her grandmother’s. It belongs to Johanna Bonger, Vincent van Gogh’s sister-in-law.
Johanna inherited the paintings of Vincent van Gogh. They were all she had and were worth nothing. In the 1800s, she was a 28-year-old widow with a baby, living in Paris with no means of supporting herself and barely speaking the language. Still, she managed to introduce Vincent’s legacy to the world.
For M3, this inspiration couldn’t have come at a better time. As businesses fail, unexpected romances enter her life, and family secrets are revealed, will she be able to find answers in her past?
Ending mental illness
Ending mental illness Dr. Daniel Amen’s book offers a hopeful and innovative approach to mental health, challenging the idea that we are simply “stuck” with mental illness. Dr. Amen reframes mental health issues as follows: brain health Issues that can be addressed and improved with appropriate strategies.
He shares science-backed tools like diet, exercise, supplements, and brain scans, showing how these can help optimize the brain and, in turn, improve mental health in children and adults. This book is a guide to healing from the inside out, inspiring you to take care of your brain so you can feel your best and get more out of life.
His work inspires me. Because he caters to a whole demographic that feels hopeless or needs to rely on medication for the rest of their lives. Psychiatry is one of the only medical professions that does not scan the organs it treats. They often make guesses and diagnoses based on symptoms alone.
Through Dr. Amen’s SPECT scans, see how blood flow, trauma, head injuries, and nutritional deficiencies affected the Crents’ brains and produced visible changes to improve their mental health I was able to. He believes in medicine and lifestyle changes and I love the way he speaks and writes. I learned a lot from him and highly recommend this book. 10/10

There is no plan B in your game
There is no plan B for your best game. Written by Bo Eason, this book is energizing, inspiring, and contains tips on how to take your personal and professional life to the next level. Bo is a former NFL player and actor, and I’ve always enjoyed his way of speaking, so this book was no different. It’s casual and it’s real. If you want to be the best, you have to give it your all.
He shares his personal journey and rise from small-town kid to professional athlete, highlighting focus, resilience, and how he embraced discomfort to unlock his potential. Masu. 9/10
from Amazon:
Can you be the best in the world at what you do? This book shows you how.
When Bo Eason was 9 years old, he set his sights on becoming the best free safety in the NFL. A skinny man from a small town, he was initially rejected by both high school and college teams. But he went all in and became an All-Pro in 1984 when he was drafted by the Houston Oilers. Then he set new goals. That is to become a great stage actor, even though he had no theatrical experience. But he continued to rehearse constantly, sought guidance from Al Pacino, and wrote and performed a one-man play that The New York Times called “one of the most powerful plays of the past decade.”
Then he set yet another goal. It’s about using your experience to teach others how to achieve their dreams. Bo Eason is now one of the most sought after motivational speakers in the world, with clients including many Fortune 500 companies. In his first book, Bo Eason shows everyone how to be the best at what they do: the best leader, the best athlete, the best partner, the best parent. “There’s No Plan B for Your A-Game” focuses on a four-step process to winning.
Declaration: What do you want to achieve?;
Preparation: How can I make it happen?;
Acceleration: How do you find the motivation to achieve your goals?;
Dominance: How do you bring others along?
Everyone has the ability to become great. we are born with it. Beau Eason will teach you how, with inspiring, practical guidance with absolute accountability.

Outlive: The science and art of longevity Written by Dr. Peter Attia It’s about proactive, individualized strategies to prevent chronic disease and extend not just lifespan, but “healthspan,” or the amount of time spent in good health. Dr. Attia covers topics such as exercise, nutrition, mental resilience, and sleep. Combining research and practical guidance, it encourages readers to adopt long-term lifestyle practices that promote healthier, longer lives.
To be honest, this book was a lot of work for me. There was a lot of information, but I felt like it could have been made more concise and easier to read. I usually love reading books about health, but this one felt worse than a textbook. I also didn’t like that he placed so much emphasis on genetic factors and less emphasis on environmental factors such as exposure to toxins, air, and food quality. I would give it a rating of 6/10.
from Amazon:
Don’t you want to live longer? And even better? In this instruction manual for longevity, Dr. Peter Attia uses the latest science to provide innovative nutritional interventions, techniques to optimize exercise and sleep, and tools to address emotional and mental health. We offer
Although mainstream medicine has had many successes, it has not made significant progress against the diseases of aging that kill most people, such as heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and type 2 diabetes. Treatment interventions are often too late to be effective, extending lifespan at the expense of healthspan and quality of life. Dr. Attia believes we need to replace this outdated framework with a personalized, proactive strategy for longevity – one that takes action now instead of waiting.
This isn’t “biohacking”, it’s science. A well-founded, strategic and tactical approach to extending your life while improving your physical, cognitive and emotional health. Dr. Attia’s purpose is not to tell you what to do, but to help you learn how to think about your long-term health in order to create the best plan for you as an individual. In Outlive, readers will discover:
• Why doesn’t a cholesterol test at my annual checkup provide enough information about my actual risk of dying from a heart attack?
• You may already have a very common but underdiagnosed liver disease that can be a precursor to chronic diseases of aging.
• Why exercise is the most powerful “medicine” to promote longevity and how to start training for the “100-year-old decathlon.”
• Why you should forget about diet and instead focus on nutritional biochemistry, which uses technology and data to personalize your eating patterns.
• Why neglecting mental health while striving for physical health and longevity can be the ultimate curse for all.
Aging and longevity are much more flexible than we think. Our destiny is not fixed. With the right roadmap, you can chart a different path in life, extend your genetic lifespan, and make each decade better than the last.
So tell me, friends, what are you reading right now? What’s on your list?
