The Buffalo bill signs veteran wide receiver Elijah Moore for a year worth up to $5 million, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.
Moore, 25, played a career-high 61 passes and one touchdown for the Cleveland Browns last season for 538 yards.
Moore can play multiple receiver spots and join Buffalo groups, including Joshua Palmer and Rabis Cache Nou Jr., who have been added to free agency. 2024 second round pick Keon Coleman; Khalil Shakir signed a four-year contract extension this offseason. And last year’s free agent addition, Curtis Samuel.
The Bills also chose Cadden Plaza from Maryland in the seventh round on Saturday.
Moore visited the bill on Monday. On the same day, general manager Brandon Bean shared his frustration on his local radio station WGR550 regarding his handling of teams that don’t have a higher wide receiver in the draft.
“[Moore’s] We just put the pin in, like we were the guy we spoke a few times before we reached the draft and we had some other positions. Bean said while he was on his appearance. But we didn’t, so we picked up those conversations over the weekend. ”
Moore received an unlimited free agent bid from Cleveland on Tuesday. This means it counts in the 2026 NFL Draft’s price pick formula. If he had not signed with another team by July 22nd, the Browns would have retained his exclusive negotiating rights. The bid is worth $3.428 billion.
Moore joined the Browns after trading a second round pick for the New York Jets in March 2023.
During his two years with the Browns, Moore caught 120 passes for 1,178 yards and three touchdowns.
Moore, the Jets’ second pick (No. 34) in the 2021 NFL Draft, played college football for Ole Miss for the Four Seasons. Moore caught 200 passes for 2,162 yards and nine touchdowns.
